Sugar High for baby Carsyn!!

Standard

Today I had my glucose test, and I was NOT looking foward to it! I had heard that the drink you drink is disgusting and having to wait an hour for the test did not sound fun!

Well, it wasn’t as bad as I had expected!  The fruit punch flavored drink we not the best tasting, but it was manageable.  It was just SUPER sweet, and made me a bit jittery! They set a timer for an hour and gave it to me to keep up with.  Weeelllll, somehow I reset it, and when I let them know about it, there was talk of maybe having to redo the test! JUST MY LUCK!  But, thankfully the person in the lab recorded the time when they gave me the drink! WHEW!

We met with Dr.Mody while we were waiting and we got to hear Carsyn’s heartbeat. IT WAS CLOSE TO 170!  She must have been feeling the sugar drink too! 🙂  We also heard a funny noise on the doppler which Dr. Mody told us was her moving in my stomach. So neat!

Last night, we were at Wal-Mart and found a bouncer for Carsyn. We’d been looking for one that wasn’t super expensive since we’ve got a swing on our registry. We wanted a bouncer that would be portable and inexpensive.  We happened to wander into the baby section (as we do everywhere we go!). We found one for $25, and since I had a gift card, it only ended up being 10 bucks!

Travis was really excited to put it together last night, and I was excited to have one more thing to put into the nursery! 😉

Baby’s 1st Christmas….well, KINDA! ;)

I was so excited to get some time off from work to relax and DO NOTHING! Boy was that a joke!  I have been busy this whole ‘break’ until this evening. Don’t get me wrong, I’m enjoyed my time off!!

Travis and I went to my parent’s house on Christmas Eve and had a wonderful time hanging out with them and my sister and Nick. It was so nice to get to spend time with family and not have to worry about rushing home to go back to work! It was also really nice to see them, because I hadn’t seen them in a month (which is a long time for us!) 😉 We went to a Japanese Steakhouse for Christmas Dinner, and Carsyn must’ve really enjoyed it because I don’t think there was a time she wasn’t kicking or flipping around. (Could have been the sweet tea I gave into at dinner!) 🙂

Next, we went the Travis’ parent’s new lake house to do gift with them.  They got Travis a neat book for new dads… He’s really enjoyed reading it, because it’s written by a male comedian!

Travis’ parents also got us the cutest John Deere outfit for Carsyn. She’s going to look so adorable!

It turned out to be a wonderful Christmas, and we are so excited for what next Christmas will be like! We know there will probably be lots more gifts… (for Carsyn!) 😉

Oh baby!

I had my 26 week doctor’s appointment yesterday and I just cant believe how fast this pregnancy is flying by! I’m am happy to say that I am feeling great!!

I have a little bit of swelling in my feet when I get home from work, and Travis is great about massaging my lower back for me. It doesn’t help that I am on my feet all day at work!

At my doctor’s appointment yesterday I talked to my doctor about my maternity leave and about her possibly inducing me on my birthday if I haven’t had her naturally by then! (since my birthday is the day after my due date!)

It was so strange to be thinking about these things already, and then I realized! I HAVE 14 MORE WEEKS TO GO! A look at how fast the past 26 have flown by!! With the holidays, I’m sure it will make time pass even more quickly!

Carsyn is kicking up a storm, and I just love to watch her play in my belly! Travis enjoys his time he gets with her too!

Next up…glucose test in 2 weeks as well as some lab work.

Oh yea! Can’t wait for my baby showers! My sister and mom are throwing me one at my house at the end of January, and then a few co-workers are throwing me one at Maxie B’s in the beginnng of February! Fun times to come! :o)

I remember getting to excited when I felt the faintest flutter in my belly!  Well now, there is NO DOUBT that she’s in there!

I can feel her at several times throughout the day.  I’ve noticed that she’s on a bit of a routine (and so am I now!!)  She likes to kick and punch around 8am when I’m sitting down with my first guided reading group… and I have to admit, it can be a bit distracting! 😉  She’s also pretty active around lunch time when I finally get to sit down and relax for a minute. It’s nice to have some quiet time to myself and Carsyn 🙂

I also feel her several times in the evening, but she’s most active between 8-9 when I’m either getting ready to workout, grade papers, or in this case tonight…ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! 😉  She also likes to roll around when I lay down to sleep, and when Travis comes home from work. Last night I was so cold and Travis put is warm hand on my stomach. Carsyn gave him the hardest little kick! He loved it!  He can also lay and watch her move in my belly, and you can see my stomach twitch and move around when she’s really active.

In the past week, Carsyn has also begun a habit of waking me up at night several times moving about. She likes to let me know she’s in there about every 2 hours. Last night it was 1:15, 3:30, and 5:00!

Although the movement at night can leave me a bit drained by the morning… I wouldn’t change it for anything in this world! It’s the best feeling ever, and I’m so happy to have constant reassurance she’s doing well in there! 🙂

I’m also so happy that now Travis can share in this exciting time with me!

Here’s a pic of my baby bump at 24 weeks 🙂
